There is just something about feeling you have your shit together when you have a well-organized closet hence why I added it to the list. I also needed the push to actually organize my closet? It’s been a while and the mess has slightly gotten out of hand. I straighten out Onno’s closet every week but mine isn’t a priority? I really don’t understand myself sometimes. Regardless it felt wonderful to go through my clothes again and now I feel more put together and ready to face the world so the goal behind the task has definitely been accomplished.

Seeing the difference between the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures soothes my soul. I did end up keeping a lot of clothes that no longer fit me. I have a hard time letting go and although I managed to fill up two plastic bags for donation, I hung onto another bag. Normally I wouldn’t necerssarily recommend this because it can be toxic for your mental health to hang onto clothes with the idea you will fit into it again but in this case I want to keep it as a motivation for my weightloss. Talking about my weightloss is a bit of a touchy subject for me. I started this year with the mindset that I’m happy with my body and I don’t intend to go on this crazy weightloss journey but the thing is…I need to lose weight to improve our chances with trying to concieve. I have every intention to lose weight this year hence why I’m holding onto these smaller pieces. It feels wasteful to get rid of them. I just need to lose weight in a healthy manner so I won’t get lost in that toxic mindset again. How did decluttering and reorganizing my closet get to my relationship with my body?
Anyway, there isn’t much else I can say. My closet is nice and neat now and I’m super pleased with myself. It’s kind of amazing. I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile now but it felt like it would be this massive task and instead it was actually a nice start to my morning. I put on a podcast, made myself a cup of cappuccino and did one section at a time. I feel like I set myself up for futher success today. I might actually get a lot of small tasks done so that’s awesome.
